Custom-Made Lithium Batteries to Retrofit Legacy Lead Acid Applications

With their higher energy density and lighter weight, lithium batteries are now widely considered as an alternative energy source for existing lead acid applications. Many industries and products are attracted to the benefits of lithium technology, which include compact size, lower weight, higher efficiency, greater measurability and maintenance, better management, scalability, and improved cycle life and costs.

Weighed against all the benefits, there are some challenges when switching over from lead acid to lithium technology:

Lithium Power’s unique technology can overcome these challenges and allow our custom-made lithium batteries to easily retrofit existing lead acid applications.

Lithium Power has numerous product lines and a track record of success in applying lithium power technology to many different fields. Aside from OEM/ODM projects, many of our solutions follow BCI (Battery Council International) form factors.

BCI Form Factors*

A popular BCI form factor battery size is the GC2/GC8. This lead acid battery product has been widely used for many decades in highly diversified industries such as golf carts and other electric vehicles. Lithium Power delivers the GC2/GC8 form factor lithium battery with significant breakthroughs that allow users to switch seamlessly.

Highlights of technological breakthroughs:
  • Direct drop-in replacement
  • Works with existing lead acid chargers/charging systems
  • IP 67 rated
  • UL 2580 certified battery cells and UL 2271 certified battery pack

Forklift Batteries

Lithium Power has also developed many products that are not BCI form factors. Original Equipment customers with existing lead acid battery solutions work with us to switch to lithium technology for 10 times the cycle life, a higher rate of charge/discharge, at less than half the weight and size.

Lithium Power offers 3 standard size battery modules for forklift and material handling applications:

As shown below, three 24V 200Ah modules assemble into one 24V 600Ah battery pack.

Lithium Power can match existing battery compartment dimensions while meeting or exceeding the application’s energy demands. Plus, with the ability to connect batteries in parallel for both charging and discharging, our modular designs allow for scalability as well as ease in transportation and maintenance.

*Form factors are the dimensions and configuration of the appliance’s battery compartment.
